Divina Denuevo’s Ayre Messenger is made using rich smooth burgundy stone oil-tanned leather that is strong enough to weather the elements while remaining luxurious and supple to the touch.
Choose between a fixed length strap (48″ long) or an adjustable strap (46″-52″ long).
The envelope style messenger bag features industrial strength leather-grade nylon double stitching, heavy-duty silver hardware and an authentic antique skeleton key as a closure. Each bag has a different, unique key. Inside, there is a tag that indicates the origins of the key and where it was recovered. The bag even features a hidden rear pocket, perfect for easy access to essentials such as your phone. The slender design allows for shoulder or cross body wear.

The first time my parter came across Divina Denuevo shop on Etsy, he was smitten with the textured look of the leather products, and the stylistic element of the old keys on their journals called out to him. Our first purchase from D.D. was however an i-phone case/wallet of burgundy leather. Not only did it turn out to be functional and unique, but the leather aged amazingly – it’s been a little under a year, and the leather turned a richer, purpler color. At one point, the wallet got slightly scratched by a key, and the leather “healed” – eventually the scratch gained the same coloring as the rest of the wallet and become indiscernable.
So for this New Year’s gift to my partner, I contacted Victoria about ordering an Ayre Messenger Bag with slight alterations – same style, only in enlarged enough dimensions to fit a 13″ Macbook Air and some notebooks. Communication with Victoria was clear and pleasant. Once I put in the order, the turn around time was impressively quick (less than advertised). The bag was sent via Canadian post to ship to USA, and I was provided a tracking number (Interestingly, and probably because the bag quickly passed the US border, no tracking info was really available on the Canadian post website – but the shipping time was as estimated by Canadian post).
I have not worn the bag myself, but my dear has already enjoyed his early holiday gift several times, and his feedback is as follows:
– Superb craftsmanship
– The key is awesome, and actually holds the closing strap in place
– The bag, as requested, fits to necessary dimensions
– the default strap length of 48″ is convenient (Note: my partner is 6’4″ in height – also, I believe adjustable straps are available for purchase at this store);
– the only potential limitation: the small back pocket, out of which the closing strap begins, is only sufficient (thin) enough to hold a phone, or some pencils. However, it’s main function seems to be decorative, and given how we plan to use this bag, this does not inconvenience us;
Overall, we can’t recommend this store enough.
